Perhosen lento voi näyttää ihmisen silmissä päämäärättömältä, mutta sen näennäisen epäsäännöllinen kuvio on hienovarainen selviytymisstrategia. \n\nButterfly Logicin perhonen kuvautuu vastarinnan symbolina, haastaen kehoille ja mielille asetettuja normatiivisia odotuksia. Se esittää normeista poikkeavat liikkumisen ja ajattelun tavat omina loogisina järjestelminään – queereinä, älykkäinä ja arvokkaina erilaisuudessaan. \n\nTeos tuotettiin alun perin Fundació Joan Miró -museon Barcelonassa sijaitsevan Espai 13 -gallerian vuoden 2024 ohjelmistoon. The work, which combines video essay, photography and sculpture, juxtaposes the flight of a butterfly with the movements of the mind and body of people on the autism spectrum. \n \nIn philosophy, the term \"butterfly logic\" describes an erroneous chain of logical reasoning, where conclusions are drawn on shaky premises. The flight of a butterfly may appear aimless to the human eye, but its seemingly irregular pattern is a subtle survival strategy. \n \nThe butterfly in Butterfly Logic is portrayed as a symbol of resistance, challenging the normative expectations placed on bodies and minds. It presents modes of movement and thought that deviate from the norms as their own logical systems - queer, intelligent and valuable in their difference. \n \nThe work was originally produced for the 2024 program of Espai 13 gallery at the Fundació Joan Miró museum in Barcelona.
