Hän on syntynyt Tuupovaarassa, Pohjois- Karjalassa. Hän on elänyt ja työskennellyt reilut 30 vuotta Unkarissa. Hänen taiteellista matkaansa ovat muokanneet opinnot taidekouluissa sekä Suomessa, että Unkarissa, ja kumpikin paikka on jättänyt oman ainutlaatuisen jälkensä hänen työhönsä. Hän jakaa elämänsä näiden kahden maailman välillä ja kantaa niiden tekstuurit, värit ja tunnelmat mukanaan työhuoneeseensa.\n\nHän muutti pysyvästi Suomeen, Joensuuhun, syksyllä 2024.\n\nHänellä on ollut yli 20 yksityisnäyttelyä Suomessa, Unkarissa, Kroatiassa, Romaniassa ja Slovakiassa. Ryhmänäyttelyihin hän on osallistunut Unkarissa, Tanskassa, Saksassa, Bulgariassa, Itävallassa, Slovakiassa ja Suomessa.\n\nHän on työstänyt monia paperin käsittelytekniikoita. Usein hän antaa paperin pysyä mahdollisimman lähellä luonnollista tilaansa, mutta haluaa luoda teoksiinsa myös intensiivisesti muokattuja alueita. Näissä kontrasteissa syntyy tietynlainen jännite – vuoropuhelu koskemattoman ja muuntuvan välillä. Työskentely pronssin kanssa on hitaampaa ja harkitumpaa, ja lopputulos on kunnianosoitus pronssin lähes seitsemäntuhatvuotiselle historialle.\n\nTeemat teoksiinsa hän saa jatkuvasti muuttuvasta ympäristöstä ja laajemmasta, levottomasta maailmasta, jossa elämme. Hänen työnsä ovat hänen sisäisen maailmansa fyysinen heijastus. Teoksissaan hän vapauttaa epävarmuutensa, haavoittuvuutensa ja hiljaiset pelkonsa ja antaa niiden löytää muodon pronssissa tai paperissa. Samaan aikaan hän on avoin uusille ideoille ja innokas tutkimaan vieraita menetelmiä ja tekniikoita. Hän pitää silmänsä auki pienille ja suurille ihmeille, jotka pyyhkäisevät ohitsemme joka päivä – ohikiitäville yksityiskohdille, äkillisille harmonioille ja kauneuden hetkille, jotka pyytävät tulla huomioiduiksi.\n","en":"Sirpa Ihanus is a sculptor and paper artist. She was born in Tuupovaaara, North Karelia. She has lived and worked for over 30 years in Hungary. Her artistic journey has been shaped by studies at art schools in both Finland and Hungary, and both places have left their own unique mark on her work. She divides her life between these two worlds and carries their textures, colors and atmospheres into her studio. \n \nShe moved permanently to Finland, to Joensuu, in autumn 2024. \n \nShe has had over 20 solo exhibitions in Finland, Hungary, Croatia, Romania and Slovakia. She has participated in group exhibitions in Hungary, Denmark, Germany, Bulgaria, Austria, Slovakia and Finland. \n \nShe has worked with many paper handling techniques. Often she allows the paper to remain as close as possible to its natural state, but also wants to create intensively worked areas in her works. In these contrasts, a certain tension emerges – a dialogue between the untouched and the transformed. Working with bronze is slower and more deliberate, and the result is a tribute to bronze's nearly seven-thousand-year history. \n \nShe draws themes for her works from her constantly changing environment and the broader, restless world in which we live. Her works are a physical reflection of her inner world. In her works, she releases her uncertainties, vulnerabilities and quiet fears and allows them to find form in bronze or paper. At the same time, she is open to new ideas and eager to explore unfamiliar methods and techniques. She keeps her eyes open to the small and large miracles that sweep past us every day – fleeting details, sudden harmonies and moments of beauty that ask to be noticed.","sv":""},"short_description":{"fi":"Teemat teoksiin Sirpa Ihanus hän saa jatkuvasti muuttuvasta ympäristöstä ja laajemmasta, levottomasta maailmasta, jossa elämme.","en":"Sirpa Ihanus gets the themes for her works continuously from the changing environment and the broader, restless world in which we live.","sv":""},"images":[{"@id":"https://keskisuomievents.fi/api/v1/image/471d0a10-7977-4b46-a2b8-c05df02a7945","@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"ImageObject","id":"471d0a10-7977-4b46-a2b8-c05df02a7945","license":"event_only","name":"image","created_time":"2026-10-20T12:10:11.354Z","last_modified_time":null,"url":"https://keskisuomievents.fi/api/assets/3b2a2d2a-839d-45e3-83ea-20dc71e67c31?key=public","cropping":"","photographer_name":"Sirpa Ihanus","data_source":"keskisuomievents","publisher":"keskisuomievents","alt_text":{"fi":"palkkeja oranssilla ja ruskealla pohjalla","sv":"","en":""}}],"external_links":[{"name":"facebook","language":"fi","link":"https://www.facebook.com/events/1419066263074967/1419066269741633/?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A[%7B%22mechanism%22%3A%22attachment%22%2C%22surface%22%3A%22newsfeed%22%7D]%2C%22ref_notif_type%22%3Anull%7D"},{"name":"website","language":"fi","link":"https://jkltaiteilijaseura.net/2026/10/20/sirpa-ihanus-paperia-ja-pronssia-galleria-becker-31-10-18-11-2026/"}],"has_umbrella_super_event":false,"is_virtualevent":false,"keywords":[{"@id":"https://keskisuomievents.fi/api/v1/keyword/298f582f-33f0-428e-9531-35798d12d61a"},{"@id":"https://keskisuomievents.fi/api/v1/keyword/39587b8f-fdbb-4bc1-82e5-bae461851268"},{"@id":"https://keskisuomievents.fi/api/v1/keyword/c3f97c03-d196-4598-b466-80ce7b900e53"},{"@id":"https://keskisuomievents.fi/api/v1/keyword/3dfaf5ed-1875-4620-9ec0-e95fe66facb7"},{"@id":"https://keskisuomievents.fi/api/v1/keyword/810f7e9d-c372-4f27-bc2f-ce7ea7b4f058"}],"location":null,"location_extra_info":{"fi":"","en":"","sv":""},"schedule_extra_info":{"fi":"avoinna ti-pe 12-17, la 12-15, su 12-16","en":"","sv":""},"offers":[],"provider_email":"jkl.taiteilijaseura@kolumbus.fi","provider_name":"Jyväskylän Taiteilijaseura ry","provider_phone":"0408243031","provider_link":"www.jkltaiteilijaseura.net","publication_status":"public","publisher":"keskisuomievents","sub_events":[],"super_event":null,"super_event_type":null,"virtualevent_url":null,"in_language":[],"event_status":"EventScheduled","info_url":null,"data_source":"keskisuomievents","custom_data":null,"deleted":false,"registration":{"start":null,"end":null,"link":"","link_text":null,"limit":null},"ext_id":null}
